Screenprinting is a stenciling method that involves printing ink through stencils that are supported by a porous fabric mesh stretched across a frame called a screen (silkscreen). Screenprint is ideally suited for bold and graphic designs. Screens are coated in photo emulsion in a dark room where black lightproof stencils get exposed onto the screen in an exposure unit. The screen is washed and the area where the stencil blocked light gets rinsed out of the screen. Ink is applied onto the screen and squeegeed through the stencil area.
